The Origin
"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all."
- Oscar Wilde
Who are you? Why are you alive? What are you on this planet for?Only 'keys' are not plagued by existential questions, such as I have stated above.
The meaning of life has been delved into by many philosophers. I will not be indulging you into any of these theories rather I wish to examine the factors that affect these concerns of existence.
A remote sense of third person perspectives, of zooming out of circumstances in a situation, however pleasurable it may be, renders one capable of questioning 'why'. In the event of unhappiness, one usually asks 'god' , but even in the event of ecstasy, a person does feel the unearthly, surreal touch of the situation and try to see them from a zoomed out perspective either to capture the moment eternally or to judge its authenticity. This sense is inborn and natural and if you can understand what I'm saying then you have probably felt it. Traumatic experiences also enable us to seek answers to these questions. Nothingness also leads to the same. Emptiness inside, a deep powerful longing that seems to suck all the joy out of small things craves for these answers. And so does ecstasy.
The answers, my friend, lie in contentment. In questioning, analyzing and seeking the reasons, the timeline that led to this feeling of fulfillment, may be the dawn of enlightenment towards answers about oneself. It is as if, we're retracing our footsteps to know what drives us. And further, to who I am and what I'm here for.
